LexTango 2nd Sunday Milonga at Victorian Square
5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Come dance Argentine Tango in the atrium at Victorian Square. Everybody's welcome...beginners and observers too! DeSha's restaurant and Brooklyn Pizza are open during, and after, the milonga. You can also purchase food and/or drinks and bring them down to the atrium.Covered parking in the lot across Broadway is connected by pedway to Victorian Square.

Apparently there was memo going around about wearing blue! Music by Lu Ann. Alot of our "regulars" were out of town, but somehow some of us still managed to stretch the party till about 10:30 p.m.!

2nd Annual Milonga at High Bridge
8:00 p.m. till 11 p.m.
Get driving directions here.

Come dance Argentine Tango in a restored Victorian Dancing Pavilion at sunset overlooking the Kentucky River. "An unforgettable evening!" Water, soft drinks and snacks provided. (No alcohol please, it's a Jessamine County Park.) Event goes off rain or shine! The design of the pavilion keeps the floor well protected from the weather. Traditional Music. (OK, maybe one tanda of Otros Aires or Narcotango, just for kicks!)

Magical...that's all there is to it. Thirty-eight people were in attendance with representatives from Cincinnati, Louisville, Berea, Harrodsburg, the Lexington area, and even Connie and Bill who drove up from Knoxville just for this event! A true act of faith as they had never met any of us before!! They left with big smiles. A special thank you for everybody who helped us "bust a move" getting out of there, almost on time. And a huge thank you to Jay and Rita for coming out at 6 p.m. to help set up.

"Taste of Tango" and Regular 2nd Sunday Milonga at Victorian Square

As part of "Take Pride in the Bluegrass", LexTango will be offering a free introductory Argentine Tango lesson to the public from 5 to 5:45, before our regular 2nd Sunday milonga. Dancing will continue as usual from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. And Happy Mother's Day as well!!

Thank you Judy and Ron for giving the introductory lesson to about 12 people who braved the terrible weather on Mother's Day. And thanks to our "leads" for making sure no woman got away with "just watching"!! Between the holiday and weather, our attendance for this 2nd Sunday Milonga wasn't the biggest, but the energy throughout the evening was impressive! So good to FINALLY see our glob-trotting Pat and Monty back at a LexTango function, and we had a visitor from Morehead University we hope to see again.

Despite the biggest snow storm of the season the previous day, this was one of our biggest turn outs! Jan brought four students from Berea, recently returned from Buenos Aires. A number of observers asked about classes.....an advantage to dancing in public. See it. Dream it. Dance it. (Insert "study it" between dream it and dance it. OK, and insert "practice it" in there someplace.) Lynda wins the prize for the best skirt EVER!
